The fusion of physical and digital customer experience led to a completely new business.
As a traditional glass manufacturer, Rastal proposed the challenge of extending their business to the digital world. We realised that traditional glassware did not match the future needs and expectations of users in a digital context. To bridge this gap, we leveraged technology to connect real - world experiences with virtual experiences. Our solution was to print an NFC sensor directly onto the glass - allowing for multiple levels of user interaction - as well as building a cloud service to host relevant content & track data. This led to a product innovation that not only offers new benefits to all relevant parties, namely: customers, beverage producers, bar owners and Rastal themselves, but also meets the demands of the modern world.
This innovation led to the creation of a new business line: Rastal Digital, and a new brand, Connected One, created in collaboration with Telekom.
